Hello, I am Shreya.
I am a Textile Designer and Multidisciplinary Artist, interested in using the meaning and role of textiles in human cultures as a tool to create social and environmental impact. Academically trained in Textile Design my interest lies in handloom, embroidery and fabric manipulation.
My background in textiles has also influenced my illustrations where I enjoy bringing the outside in through my paintings and mixed media textile art by taking elements of quotidian life - rugs, vendors, ceramics, food, plants, idyllic street scenes. Sometimes, my work is based on memories from a few years ago, my hometown Jaipur and sometimes, it’s what I am experiencing this week, and usually it has to do with the people and things closest to me.
Currently building DAY & AGE.
