Our school founder Maharani Gayatri Devi revived and promoted the then-dying art of blue pottery.&nbsp;Under the patronage of Her Highness, Kripal Singh Shekhawat pioneered its revival in 1963. Today, the craft continues to flourish and has gained new momentum. During this summer, I decided to train at the beautiful workshop of Shilp Guru GOPAL SAINI and his daughter GARIMA SAINI in Jaipur. I was certainly attracted to the higly illustrative and decorative iconography of the craft and wanted to explore the same for my own cause. This year the event was to take place in Amritsar, a HRIDAY heritage city in Punjab.&nbsp; I was full of inspiration from my then recent trip to Pondicherry, a French colonial settlement in India presently with the status of a Union Territory. And chose to capture this beauty of the crafts from this town&nbsp;which is physically located within the boundaries&nbsp;of Tamil Nadu, and its administrative territory lies scattered in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and&nbsp;Kerala. During my exchange semester in Brussels I visited Marolles Flea Market which is one&nbsp;of the oldest markets in the city. This was an instant reminder and connection for me to the Sunday market of Ahmedabad. It felt similar but different, familiar but new.
